Excited for 2009

Personally, I am so excited for the coming year! I anticipate many great things. There are so many reasons to be thankful. Honestly, my heart overflows with thanks to the Lord for His grace, mercy and blessings. Even when I can't figure out timing...He always does...and His timing is always perfect. Each year as a family and together with our church Grace North, we seek the Lord for our personal words for the year. My (Lydia's) word for the year is "Focus on Family" and Scott's is "Presense"; meaning being in the presense of God. Lord, our prayer is to seek You daily by coming to You, hearing what You say, and walking in obedience to You by doing what You tell us to do. We commit 2009 to You!

Anticipated Highlights of 2009:
February - Lydia to Atlanta for Foursquare Women's Conference / 6 year wedding anniversary
March OR May - Family Vacation
April - Scott to Israel for teaching tour with Pastor Jerry Dirmann
May - Foursquare Intl Convention in Anaheim, CA / James turns 1
June - nephew Jonathan will move to Anthem from Norway / Dominic turns 3
July - Family Camp in Prescott, AZ and The Rock Conference in Anaheim
more to come....

Merry Christmas 2008!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! 2008 has been a year of walking in faith and God's promises. We serve an awesome, awesome God and it is with joy in our hearts we write to you this Christmas season.

Our year started with awesome change and growth with our church, Grace North. We are privileged to serve with an amazing group of pastors in a wonderful community that we love. Grace North continues to grow disciples which is always a very exciting journey.

Personally, we have experienced many highlights! We vacationed with some great friends in March and toured SeaWorld and Legoland in San Diego, CA. We trekked for days and Dominic had a blast. I was 7 months pregnant with James but managed really well - and got plenty of exercise! We welcomed James Scott on May 29th and celebrated Dominic's 2nd birthday on June 8th. We've nicknamed our boys "Our Delight" because that is truly what they are to us. In June, one week after James was born, we welcomed my family from Norway for 7 weeks. Having Lena and her children here was absolutely amazing! Throughout the duration of the summer we also welcomed family from Fresno, CA, Tucson, AZ as well as close family friends from Washington, California, and Norway. Thank you all for coming to be with us!

In June Scott and Joe traveled to Van Nuys, CA to attend their third installment of "The School of Pastoral Nurture" with Pastor Jack Hayford. This has been an exceptionally enriching experience for Scott who has been blessed to attend these special times with Pastor Jack for the past 3 years. July brought another life altaring Grace North Family Camp experience with Pastors Jerry & Kimberly Dirmann. All we can say is "wow" and we are counting down the days until July 7-10, 2009! And on top of that the entire Grace North staff was blessed to be able to attend "The Rock" Conference in Anaheim, CA just days after our own family camp together with Pastors Jerry and Kimberly!

In October we celebrated the marriage of Carrie Ingegneri to Jeremy Foster! All we can say is WOW! Scott was honored to officiate his sister's wedding and it was definitely an incredible celebration!

Our fall was of course wrapped in the preparation and excitement of "Christmas Street". With approx. 9 months of preparation (beginning in February) and 3 1/2 months of rehearsals we were all elated to present six performances of "Christmas Street" to Grace North and our community. Thank you Grace North for your INCREDIBLE support and to all of our friends and family for praying for us, helping us in practical ways and supporting us by attending the show! We are also excited to announce that "Christmas Street" is now international as our good friend Pastor Bec Tobar from Sydney, Australia and her amazing team from Calvary Chapel George's Hall presented two performances this past weekend with approx. 900 in attendance!

Today, only 6 days from Christmas Day, we reflect on the very reason we celebrate Christmas; our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Personally, we have been challenged to re-think Christmas with the following concepts: Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More and Love All. Secondly: Give Presence! Give the gift of your presence and the Presence of God!

Our Family Loves You! Merry Christmas!

Gardening Project

The running joke between my mom and me is that I cannot keep anything alive. I must admit it's true but I'm really trying to change that. The other day Scott and I planted tropical hybiscus in front of our jucuzzi and white and yellow lantana around our fountain. Now...if we could just get the fountain to work!

Potty Training 101

We are now in the midst of the world of potty training. Dominic has always been very interested in this although he is not quite ready to do "it". His infatuation with the potty began when we introduced him to "Elmo's Potty Time" by Sesame Street. That was about 1 year ago - long before we planned on potty training him. Our thinking behind this was as follows: plant the idea in his mind that this is what he should be doing and he'll just do it! Not so much. Though he knows every song on this hilerious DVD by heart he is still not "going poo poo and pee pee in the potty". Mind you, he is not even 2 1/2 yet but I am growing weary of the "two kids in diapers" thing. However Dominic has found a way to take off his pants, strip off his diaper and sit on the toilet with magazine in hand and of course, the fan must be turned on as well! I must say it takes diligence, effort and consistency to put him on the potty each time he thinks about it, yet I faith that one of these days Dominic will catch on. For those of you who have gone this road before us, we appreciate the thoughts and prayers!

Fall 2008

Dear Friends and Family,
Much has happened since our announcement about James's arrival! James is now 4 months and an absolute delight. We enjoyed an awesome summer with our family from Norway - Lydia's sister Lena and her 3 kids Jonathan, Inger Marlene and Aimee. Summer included Family Camp - which was another incredible highlight of year personally and for Grace North Church. We also just celebrated the marriage of Scott's sister Carrie to Jeremy Foster on October 4th. It was an incredible day for our entire family!

The boys continue to be our delight as they grow and change before our very eyes. They are precious and amazing gifts. Dominic and James love each other and even though they are still so little it's evident their care and love for each other. They make each other laugh! It's so cute. Dominic continues to amaze us with his musical skill and passion for life. He loves church, his little friends, chicken nuggets and his drum set! He is also taking a huge liking to playing the piano and singing worship songs!

Its always a delight having our parents so close (Inger, Joe and Marion). They are such awesome grandparents!

We hope all is well with you! Drop us a line soon!

More about Norway Family

Lise, Sten, Isabell and Benjamin are doing great so I thought I'd share a few more pictures! My mom is safely home again and adjusting with plenty of jet lag! She had a fantastic, peaceful time in Norway and was of course, a big blessing to Lise and the family. We are happy to have her home but wishing we could continue to share her! It's hard in times like this when we all desire to be together! Lena and her kids are coming to Phoenix this summer and we are looking forward to their company for 6 weeks! I am 4 weeks away from my due date so we'll keep you all posted on James's arrival!

Our everyday life...

Hey All,
Well I'm growing and counting down the weeks...about 6 more to go to the due date...we are hoping he comes a little early. Speaking of growing, Dominic is definitely changing and becoming such a little boy. His vocabulary is awesome and he's starting to say lots of cute and funny things! I hope to very shortly post the blog that my sister Lise has delivered her baby boy Benjamin. She is 2 weeks over due and WAY READY to have this baby! Rest assured that will be my next post!
Love and Blessings,

31 weeks and counting...

My pregnancy with James is going wonderful! I feel great and have a lot of energy. My only downfall is my lack of being able to remember anything these days! Today Dominic's new room is being painted and all set up. The transition to his "big-boy" bed will hopefully go smoothly...Lord give us grace! HA HA! Our nursery will remain the same for James except a fresh coat of a different colored paint and some new shelves. (Mon, I can hardly wait to use the new rocker and glider you got me...thank you!) We are excited for our transition from one to two! Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers!

Hey Everyone! Here are some pictures from our vacation last week to San Diego, CA! We had a blast with our dear friends Torrey & Christina Inez and their kiddos Kalani, Tyler and Victoria. Dominic had a great time despite being dragged across two amuzement parks! Dominic especially liked the rides at Legoland and seeing and petting the beautiful dolphins at SeaWorld! He really did awesome and had so much fun. What a trooper! Love you all!

Carrie Ingegneri is Engaged!

Our beautiful sister Carrie Lynn is engaged to the man of her dreams...Mr. Jeremy Foster! The engagement happened on Friday, Feb 22nd in Tucson, Arizona! We could not be more thrilled for Carrie and Jeremy! Carrie met Jeremy through our good friends Terry and Danielle Donatto. Jeremy is from Houston, TX but will be relocating to Phoenix ASAP...obviously! Jeremy is a sports radio broadcaster with his own morning show in Houston. The prayer request as of now is that God will open up a job for him in Phoenix. Carrie and Jeremy are looking at a Fall wedding here in Phoenix!

2008 - The journey!

Hi Everyone! We entitled this post "2008 - The Journey" because that is what we feel like we are on... a journey. We have started this year running! Scott and I are in our 3rd installment of Boot Camp; which is an in-depth discipleship program we started at Grace North in 2007. We have the privilege of leading people through personal discipleship and discovery of the power of God's Word in their lives. Also, God is expanding the worship arts ministry of Grace North in such a way that we are revamping pretty much everything to allow for the growth. It is a very exciting time at Grace North Church!

Personally we will be welcoming our son, James Scott in the end of May! We are thrilled. The pregnancy has been fantastic and has flown by this time around. We recently purchased a "big boy" bed for Dominic which we cannot seem to wrap our minds around quite yet. He is not sleeping in it quite yet because this mommmy is not ready for that one! HA HA. Dominic continues to amaze us with his growth & development (he is so tall) and his interaction with others. He is extremely social, outgoing, funny and energetic! He has also recently taken up playing the drums! This may sound weird considering he is only 20 months but we really mean it when we say he is playing the drums. He even knows how to do a count off! Grandma Inger got a new guitar for Christmas which he has not taken a huge interest in as well. He will probably be leading worship by the time he is 5.

This month we look forward to our upcoming staff retreat/getaway with our amazing co-ministers. We are also taking a family vacation to San Diego at the end of the month with our good friends Torrey & Christina and their three kids. Sea World and Lego Land here we come!

Enjoy these pictures! They are from various events over the holidays and last few months! We miss you all and love you! Let us know how you are!
